There are two meetings organised by ISIS each year just for students, providing opportunities for students to present their work to their peers, ask questions of each other and chair sessions. These offer the chance to discover more about the broad range of research taking place at neutron and muon facilities and network with fellow students who also carry out experiments at large scale facilities.
- ISIS Student Meeting (ISM) runs annually showcasing student research
- UK Neutron & Muon Science and User Meeting (NMSUM) Student day runs annually as a 1-day meeting before the main User meeting to learn more about neutron & muon techniques, as well as the research of fellow students
Registration to both meetings are open to PhD and Masters students and are free to researchers at UK universities and ILL. Reasonable travel expenses for these students will also be covered.
Next Meeting
The 2025 ISIS Student Meeting will take place on 26 November at RAL, as a one-day meeting in between the practical component of the Neutron Training Course. Attendees of the NTC are welcome to attend the conference, and we also welcome those who are not on the course.
Registration is now open, with a talk and accommodation deadline of Friday 17 October. Please note that NTC attendees will also have to complete the registration form if you would like to attend the conference.
